A silent philanthropist

Navaratnam Nadarajamoorthy a Sri Lankan born Australian businessman is a silent philanthropist helping his Motherland at the most toughest times and in need. He is the President of Children Rights Foundation of Australia, an organization established 30 years ago to identify and assist children who are marginalized and socially disconnected due to war, poverty, family violence and abuse.

As one of the many projects of the organization, recently he coordinated a project to donate over Rs two million worth of education books for the displaced students in the North of Sri Lanka recently.

Identifying the urgency and the emergency of the catastrophe during the Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004, with a matter of days, he coordinated with Malaysian Airlines and sent over $100,000 worth of medicine and emergency items to be distributed in all the Tsunami affected areas in Sri Lanka. Having born in Jaffna, he was determined to help the Jaffna populace in need, Navaratnam Nadarajamoorthy donated $600,000 worth of Blood Analysers for a hospital in North of Sri Lanka in 2005.

A humble businessman in Melbourne South Eastern suburbs, living with wife and his three children, actively promotes assistance to the war torn and natural disaster struck citizens in Sri Lanka by way of providing medicines, medical items, school items, dry food such as rice, sugar, flour and basic necessities such as clothes, shoes and sanitary items. When the war concluded in Sri Lanka, on May 18, 2010 coordinating other interested members in the community in Melbourne, Nadarajamoorthy made available to the displaced people in the North a 20 foot container of clothes, medicines and food.

Nadarajamoorthy negotiated with the Government officials in Colombo to ensure that the cargo was cleared on time and was sent to the areas in need to reach the most affected people. He has also donated AUD $2,000 for the aged people currently housed at Kaithady Accommodation in the North of Sri Lanka.

A strong Hindu devotee, he is currently negotiating to purchase a land in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne to build a temple at a total cost of AUD $2.6 million.

Navaratnam Nadarajamoorthy is the Managing Director of Australian International Exporters Pvt Limited of 142 Williams Road Dandenong Victoria. The other companies he owns Decor Fabric Australia, Vertilink Australia, MTC Blinds, Candaian Cedar group, Packaging group of Australia, Lomargin supermarket and Money converters Pty Limited. Moneyconverters is a private lending body specialising in providing financial assistance. The company will be floated in the sharemarket within the next financial year to expand its franchise operation australiawide.
