Shangri La sets eyes on Lanka
Shangri La Asia Chairman/CEO Ean Khoon Kouk met President Mahinda
Rajapaksa at Temple Trees last Friday.
Ean Khoon Kouk is exploring invest opportunities in Sri Lanka. The
Kouk family is the largest shareholder of the Shangri-La Hotels chain
with over 67 hotels and resorts all over the globe including North
America with a combined room capacity of over 30,600.
A further 40 hotels and resorts are under construction in several
countries in Asia and Europe which will increase the combined room
capacity by another 15,000. Apart from investments in hotels the Kouk
family has invested heavily in several other ventures including Wilmar
International of Singapore a company involved in the agribusiness on a
large-scale and established in several countries across the globe.
Wilmar International is represented in Sri Lanka by its associate
company Pyramid Lanka. |
