Minister orders pensions for resettled
Pension and other benefits to those who have resettled in the North
should be paid under the Social Security Pension schemes, Traditional
Industries and Small Enterprise Development Minister Douglas Devananda
said.
He was speaking at a ceremony at the District Secretariat, Jaffna
last week participating as Chief Guest to award certificates and prizes
to Divisional Secretaries and Grama Niladaris who had enrolled the
highest number of contributors to Pension Schemes launched by the Social
Security Board for 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Jaffna district recorded the highest in the island in enrollment of
members to the Pension Schemes from 2007 to 2009.
Minister Devananda was thankful to all for their efforts to make
Jaffna district register the highest number of members to the Social
Security Pension Schemes launched by the Social Security Board for three
consecutives years.
Sri Lanka Social Security Board Chairman Nimal Chandra Amarasinghe,
former Jaffna Government Agent K. Ganesh and Sri Lanka Social Security
Board General Manager Dhammika Padukka also spoke.
