Training program for beauticians

The Indigenous Medicine Ministry will start a training program for beauticians with the objective of improving their knowledge about the value of herbal plants and Ayurveda, a ministry official, said.

Beauty culture is a vast field and presently most of beauticians use herbal products for skin care and hair care treatment. But most of them don't know the medicinal value of herbal plants used to turn out these products, he said.

He also said from ancient times out women used herbal treatments such as turmeric, kokum, kasthuri, kohomba to protect their skin. Presently most of the people go to beauty salons for treatment.
