Indian zest in Lanka

For the first time Excel World, one of the country’s entertainment hotspots will be putting together Indian Week Celebrations to culminate with the Independent Day of India on August 15. This week of arts, culture and Indian essence will happen at No. 338, T B Jayah Mawatha, Colombo 10 till August 15.


The Indian essence comes alive

Aimed at promoting the culture and the true spirit of India, Excel World will brim with spicy flavours from the Indian cuisine and colourful hues of Indian garments. Many entertainment projects to set the Indian feel alive will be in store for all those who wander into the premises. Surprise and excitement are undoubtedly high on the list. There will be something for everyone to enjoy.

As Excel Managing Director Kiron Shenoy puts it: “this is the first time that the Excel team had decided to host a celebration week.”

“Sri Lankan and India have close relations rooting from decades. We also share similar interests. The Indian Week Celebrations will cater these features to the locals,” he expressed. Local music fans will be in for a treat as light classical music and old Hindi movie songs will be played in the backdrop.

The decor itself will set off an Indian ambiance while Taj hotels have rendered the service of their executive chef for the festivities. In addition, Sri Suryas, the reputed vegetarian hotel also has a variety of delicacies to offer.

Exciting prizes like a return air ticket to Chennai, mobile phones, full board stay for two at Hanthane Resorts, cosmetic gift packs and many more will be waiting for those who enter Excel World. The lucky draw for the event will be held with the participation of an Indian High Commission diplomat on August 15 at 6 pm. Discounts are also on offer for Indian citizens or those of Indian origin.

Excel world had joined hands with the Indian Embassy in this spectacular venture.
