Dengue cases up in Padaviya

Twenty two suspected dengue cases have been detected from the Padaviya Divisional Secretariat division during the last seven months, Padaviya MOH Dr P. S. Dissanayake told a progress review meeting held at the Padaviya Divisional Secretariat recently.

He said a dengue eradication program has been launched in the division concurrent to the program of the Presidential task force on dengue control.

Members of Suwa Sahana Committees set up at village level were conducting a house to house program to educate people on methods to eradicate mosquito breeding places. Members of the Civil Defence Force have also been enlisted for this awareness program, he added.
