China harbour renovated jetty opened

Petroleum Industries Minister Susil Premajayantha opened the newly renovated jetty at the China harbour, Trincomalee recently. The jetty was renovated by the Indian Oil Company in Sri Lanka (Lanka IOC) at a cost of Rs 50 million. The jetty helps to pump oil from ships, a Petroleum Industries Ministry spokesman said.

According to the spokesman, Minister Premajayantha also opened an oil distributing platform constructed at a cost of Rs 40 million at the Trincomalee harbour during the inspection tour in Trincomalee.

He inspected the lubricants division and the laboratory belonging to Lanka IOC. Indian High Commissioner Ashok K. Kantha, Petroleum Industries Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena, Ministry Secretary H.T.N. Jayawardena and others were present.
