DFCC Bank gets award for CSR
DFCC Bank has earned a Distinguished Honouree Award in the category
of The Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year in Asia
(Subcontinent, Australia and New Zealand) in The 2010 International
Business Awards (IBAs).
The award was for the 'Six-S implementation in schools project 2009'.
The IBAs are the only global all encompassing business awards program
honouring performances in business. Honourees have been selected from
two rounds of judging by professionals worldwide.
Organisations and individuals from 40 countries submitted 1700
entries to the IBA's this year.
DFCC Bank is the only corporate from Sri Lanka.
The 'Six-S implementation in schools project' together with guidance
on the '3R' (reduce, reuse, recycle) principles on environment
stewardship was part of DFCC Bank's overall strategy for 2009 in
building a sustainable business.
The Bank's commitment to the project has yielded good results having
a success rate of 90 percent.
The Award, named STEVIE for the Greek word 'crowned', is scheduled to
be presented to honourees in September at a ceremony in Istanbul.
