COYLE, Colombo campus tie-up:
Entrepreneurial skills development program
The Colombo University and the Chamber of Young Lankan Entrepreneurs
(COYLE) launched an entrepreneurial skills development program for
University students in Sri Lanka yesterday.
Under this initiative the Colombo University and COYLE plan to
establish and interface a link among students, faculties and the
companies owned by COYLE members by way of internships, on the job
training, field visits, workshops, seminars and projects to improve
entrepreneurial skills of University students, a media release said.
Once that link is functioning smoothly, then COYLE members will
encourage and support prospective students, student groups to spin off
enterprises by creating Entrepreneurship Development Cells within
academic premises to promote innovations and commercialize those
innovative business ideas.
In addition, COYLE will suggest curriculum upgrades and modifications
to provide relevant knowledge, skills and attitude changes by carrying
out structured programs in the first and final year semesters in
selected degree programs.
COYLE and Colombo University will take this program for three years
initially and plan to groom those entrepreneurial cells to a fully
pledged Entrepreneur Development Centre to provide a spectrum services
for our young entrepreneurs.
