Housing loans for war hero families

A special program to grant housing loans for disabled or families of soldiers who sacrificed their lives, to build or complete their houses will be initiated by the National Housing Development Authority, NHDA Chairman Jayantha Samaraweera said.

Samaraweera said the program will be introduced with the participation of Construction, Engineering, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa and Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna at Sausiripaya.

"We have selected five needy families from each district in the first stage," he added.

Samaraweera said it has been observed that the condition of most of these houses are very poor.

This will be a great relief for family members of soldiers.

The prospective families have been identified after a survey for loans. The Ministry will complete this project within four months, he said.
