Still to line-up Maradona successor
Argentina have yet to approach any potential successors to take
charge of the national team following the bitter departure of Diego
Maradona, manager Carlos Bilardo said on Sunday. "Julio Grondona (the
Argentina Football Association) president has spoken to nobody and has
told me nothing," said Bilardo.
United unleash Rooney
Manchester United will hand England striker Wayne Rooney and South
Korea international Park Ji-Sung their first starts of the pre-season on
Wednesday.
Rooney, Park as well as Michael Carrick and Nemanja Vidic were rested
for the team's North American tour as they enjoyed post-World Cup
breaks.
Murray squanders match point
Andy Murray squandered a match point in the second set and American
Sam Querrey rallied Sunday for a 5-7, 7-6 (7/2), 6-3 victory over the
British top seed in the final of the Los Angeles Open. The 23-year-old
Scotsman missed a golden chance for his first ATP title of the season
and suffered his first loss.
Rice fears for Pietersen
Kevin Pietersen's attitude towards county cricket is threatening his
international place, according to the man who helped kickstart the
batsman's career in England.
Former South Africa all-rounder Clive Rice was a key figure in
persuading the now 30-year-old Pietersen to join Nottinghamshire in
