Police to act promptly

A Report on each complaint received by the 1929 Child Line (Hotline) service of the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) will be issued by the respective police station within 48 hours after lodging the complaint.

In line with the circular issued by the Police Headquarters yesterday, all divisional heads, district heads and OICs of all police stations are asked to inquire into complaints with immediate effect. The circular has requested police officers to submit a report on the inquiry within 48 hours.

When Child Line hotline service receives a complaint, information or tip-off, the OIC of the respective police station will be made aware by the NCPA Special Police Investigation Unit. The OIC will deploy officers to look into the issue and steps will be taken to issue the progress report to the Special Police Investigation Unit of NCPA with 48 hours.
