The Flag and Whistle Restaurant won the “Best Restaurant ‘A ‘ grade
in Colombo 2010” award and at the City Food Safety High Achievers Awards
Ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel last week. This is the culmination of
a series of quality checks carried out by the Colombo Municipal Council
in affiliation with the Department of Public Health. The restaurant lies
by the side of the Colombo Port and the ambience is in par with a ship.
Generous floor space, a high ceiling, wood paneling and muted lighting
combine for a warm, comfortable atmosphere.
The most unique feature at Flag and Whistle is the view. Inside the
restaurant, the most attractive is the bar, which is just like a ship’s
cocktail deck. A Traditional ship’s lift takes the guest up to the
lounge, which is a small private area that can accommodate 20-25 pax and
this intimate area can be booked for private functions at no extra cost.
