This hotel was started in 1993 and designed by Vinod Jayasinghe the architect. From the entrance you can feel that you are in a forest as the area is surrounded by different kinds of trees. It is an open air spa managed by a qualified doctor with the staff of therapists giving a very good service to the guests.

"Tropical Villas has an all equipped conference hall which can accommodate 50 persons. We organize foreign weddings and it has a very good demand from England, Russia and Germany. Every night we have cultural shows, Calypso and any other types of entertainments," said Tropical Villas Manager Cyril Fernando said.

Tropical Villas has very good 'repeat clients' from countries specially from England. Lyn Gayler and Peter Gayler from England visit this hotel several times and they celebrated their 1000 nights in this hotel recently. "We visited many countries in the world such as Sweden, Germany, Kenya, Norway and other country. But Sri Lanka is the best country in the world we had ever visited in our holidays.
