CID investigates death threat to inmates

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had commenced investigations in connection with several death threats by inmates of Anuradhapura prison over mobile telephones to Liyanage Prasad Ranga Gunawardena requesting him to deposit money in the Bank of Ceylon Mihintale branch account no 7758470.

Police spokesman SP Priyasantha Jayakody said that CID DIG Jayantha Kulatillake had appealed to the public, if any person had deposited money in the above bank account to inform him on telephone nos. 0112 393 621 or 0112 422 176.
