Obstruction of Minister S. B. Dissanayake:

Order reserved in anticipatory bail for suspects

Kandy Chief Magistrate Lalith Ekanayake yesterday reserved the order in connection with the anticipatory bail application of four University students who are alleged to have obstructed Minister S.B. Dissanayake at the premises of Peradeniya University. Four students have been identified who are alleged to have been involved in the incident.

The University authorities had informed the Peradeniya police to conduct investigations against those students.

The Magistrate directed Peradeniya Police OIC Inspector Upali Narampanawa to conduct investigations and submit a report to court.

Senior Attorney Nanda Senanayake who watched the interest of Minister Dissanayake submitted to court that the several students have obstructed the minister while at the University premises.

Senior Attorney Saman Thanthirige appeared for the students.
