The Grama Niladaris should make a post review of the service which
they have completed for the public. A program will be implemented soon
by the Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry to monitor the
process, Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister W D J
Seneviratne said. The service of Grama Niladaris should not be confined
to fixed hours. The nature of their duties cannot be compared with other
services.
Minister Seneviratne was addressing a ceremony after opening a newly
constructed two storied Office complex built at a cost of Rs 1.28
million for the Wanathavilluwa Divisional Secretariat yesterday.
Minister Seneviratne said certain areas such as Wanathavilluwa and
Eluwankulam within the Puttalam district had been neglected for last
three decades.
The district immensely contributes to the national economy in various
aspects. The Government will do its best to develop infrastructure
facilities as well as Government services throughout the district. He
said the Puttalam district is rich in natural resources specially
mineral and aquatic resources.
Most of these resources were under utilized due to lack of proper
planning. In the present atmosphere certain zones can be developed as
more exotic sites as tourist attractions. |
