Navy rescues seriously-injured Chinese crew member
Sri Lanka Navy rescued a seriously-injured a
Chinese merchant ship crew member in the Eastern deep seas in the
early hours of yesterday. The Chinese national had been in need of
immediate medical assistance due to the serious injuries sustained
while on board MV “Full Comfort” which was sailing from India to
Brazil on the international shipping lane close to Sri Lanka.

Notorious robber arrested
A suspect alleged to have harassed a woman who
lived in a house belonging to a former UNP minister in Dangolla,
Kandy and involved in a number of acts of house breaking and
robberies was arrested by the Kandy Police Intelligence Bureau on
July 9.
