Isipatana oust Thomians

Isipatana College delivered a tremendous blow as they brought down the defending champions S. Thomas' College Mount Lavinia by 33 points to 17 points in the Milo Schools President's Trophy knock out rugby tournament second quarterfinal match worked off at the Royal College Sports Complex in Reid Avenue yesterday.

Isipatana who also won the league tournament match against the same opponents collected their points from two goals, two tries, two drop goals and one penalty after having led 20-10 at half time. The Thomians responded with two goals and one penalty.

Dynamic flanker Zaheed Zuhaib scored three tries with two of them in the second half while centre Yuresh Fonseka scored the first try for Isipatana. In addition full back Malith Jumar put over two drop goals and also fired across a 25 metre penalty.

Winger Anuruddha Willwara scored both tries for S. Thomas' College while full back Jeromy Fernando added the extra points and also put over a 30 metre penalty. (C.D).
