Archives under computer’s aegis

The Archives Department has commenced digitalization of land records of temples and devalas of the country, National Archives Department Director Saroja Wettasinghe told the Daily News.

“Number of monks and devotees come to the department to obtain extracts of land records of temples and devalas to confirm their ownership.

This service will help to ferret out certain archives,” she said.

Additionally the National Archives Department provides numerous services to the public and other institutions of the country.

The Department is providing facilities to do research on Sri Lanka history and archives and records management.

It gives research facilities for the administrators and the public.
