Ahimi Kurullo
Geeth Gunasekara's latest Sinhala novel Ahasa Ahimi Kurullo was
launched at the National Library and Documentation Services Board
Auditorium, Independence Avenue, Colombo 7 on July 6. The launching
ceremony was presided over by Ramal Siriwardena. Sundara Nihathamani de
Mel, Jatila Wellaboda and Karunaratne Amarasinghe addressed the meeting
organized by Asela Bandaranayake. Ahasa Ahimi Kurullo is a Dayawansa
Jayakody publication.
Ananda Ranga Sobha 2
The students of Ananda Balika, Kotte, had organised a musical show
titled Ananda Ranga Sobha 2 to raise funds fr their school development
society.
The concert will take place at the Youth Center, Maharagama, on July
7 at 5 pm.
Renowned vocalists like Edward Jayakody, Charitha Priyadharshani,
Ranil Mallawarachchi, Romiles Perera, Anton Jude, Priyankara Perera,
Sriyani Dissanayake, Kasun Kalhara and Divya Sonali will take part.
Sham Haseem and Chinthaka Jayasinghe of the Derana Dream Star fame,
Himasha Manupriya of Derana Little Star fame and Manusha Anuradhiof
Singing Star fame will also sing.
Ernest Zoysa and the Superstars will provide the music while Lakshan
Vanthuhewa will compere.

Naasena Gee Rasa
The Thunhela National Movement had organised a music show which will
showcase music of the 1970s and 80s titled Naasena Gee Rasa. They have
joint hands with the Workshop development institute in putting together
the event. It will be held at the BMICH on July 24 at 7 pm.
Indrani Perera, Annesley Malawana, W. Premaratne, Supriya Abeysekara
and others will take part. Gihan Nishan and his musical troupe, Tatoo,
will provide music.
SLMA-Rupee fund 'Sing-along' fund raiser

The SLMA Rupee Fund founded in the year 1953 is a Government Approved
Charity Organization and its primary responsibilities are to sustain the
community services, social development initiatives, educating and
training the youth in skills development to ensure lucrative
opportunities for their future. The Rupee Fund has its own primary
school with about 75 students from the vicinity of Kompannavidiya and
conducts Computer and English classes, offers scholarships to deserving
students who have qualified to universities, distribute Sadakka during
the month of Ramazan and also pays a monthly allowance to needy elders
of the area.
The Rupee Fund has organized a 'Sing-along' fund raiser to be held on
July 10 at the BMICH to improve its financial viability to enhance its
on going programs, music for the evening will be provided by the
renowned song and dance exponents Nalin and the Star combination. |
