Fonseka’s Election Secretary further remanded

Colombo Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge Rashmi Singappulli yesterday further remanded General Sarath Fonseka’s Election Secretary Captain Senaka Harippriya de Silva, till July 12.

At the outset, President’s Counsel Thirantha Walaliyadda, Senior Counsel for the Captain de Silva, moving for bail submitted that his client had been remanded illegally.

The Senior Counsel also moved Court to send the Court record to the Supreme Court to obtain the correct interpretation of the Emergency Law under which he was remanded.

The Criminal Investigation Department officials appeared for the prosecution.

The case will be called again on July 12.
