Naval rating in custody

A naval rating who had allegedly hijacked a three-wheeler parked at 10th Mile post, Galagedera was arrested yesterday by two policemen of the Galagedera police, who gave chase on a motorcycle.

The three-wheeler had turned turtle and the naval rating was injured in the accident.

The rating is said to be from the Hataraliyedda area and is supposed to be attached to the Welisara Navy camp.

OIC Galagedera Police IP D. M. Chandrapala is conducting further investigations under the instructions of Kandy SSP Ranjith Kasturirathna.
