Sirisangabo: longest Poson Dan Sela

Sirisangabo Dan Sela has been continuously conducting for 64 years
during the Poson season.
Located at Melsiripura town on the Kurunegala-Dambulla main road.
This caters to thousands of devotees who go on pilgrimages to sacred
places such as Anuradhapura, Mihintale and Polonnaruwa during the Poson
Days.
“Our Dan Sel society was established in 1947. We held the Dan Sela
for the 64th successive year this time. During the Poson season more
than 60,000 devotees partake their meals at this Dan Sela. This is a
meritorious deed. Residents in sixty villages around Melsiripura town
extend their co-operation to conduct this Poson Dan Sela”, Melsiripura
