Niyaz Moulavi worked for peaceful co-existence - PM

Mohamed Niyaz Moulavi who passed away yesterday represented the entire nation while working on establishing religious harmony and peaceful co-existence, Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne points out.

The Prime Minister in a condolence message states; “I was deeply shocked by the untimely death of Mohamed Niyaz Moulavi. He always stood for a united country and always worked with the country’s interests at heart.”

“As a Presidential Advisor on Muslim Affairs Mohamed Niyaz Moulavi rendered an invaluable service and helped strengthen the close ties between Muslims and other communities.

“The vacuum created by his passing away will be hard to fill,” the message adds.
