reflects artistic depth:
Young filmmaker Sumith Rohana Tittawella's maiden film, Sthuthi
Newatha Enna (Anticipating the Re-arrival) is screening at Regal,
Colombo, and CEL circuit cinemas islandwide.

The movie is set in the backdrop of the last phase of terrorism. It
revolves around a father and his two sons who are both officers in the
army.
A number of sub themes run parallel to the main story reflecting the
various hues of human life and nature. It enhances the artistic quality
of the production and makes the viewers ponder over the aspects and
impacts the three decade period left on the life of the common man.
Sumith had directed, scripted and written the screenplay of the
movie. He said that the story is influenced by true life experiences.
It is a tribute to the war heroes who faced various hardships to
liberate the country from the clutches of terrorism.
Hemasiri Liyanage, Damitha Abeyratne, Jagath Benaragama, Bimal
Jayakody, Jayani Senanayaka, Asela Jayakody, Mandasmitha Muduthepuli,
Sampath Jayaweera, Mangala Madugalle, Udeni Alwis and others are part of
the cast.
Wimal Deshapriya is the assistant director, Bandula Weerasekara the
art director and Pushpakumara Bandara Rajaguru the cameraman.
Sthuthi Newatha Enna is produced by Mangala Madugalla, a lecturer in
Modern Language attached the University of Kelaniya. It was shot in
Thanthirimale and Vilachchiya.
