Building collapse kills 11 watching World Cup

Eleven members of a Senegalese family died when their house collapsed as they watched a World Cup football match on television, fire services said Sunday.

Firemen arrived at the site in Matam, 660 kilometres north of Dakar (410 miles), twenty minutes after the house still under construction collapsed on Saturday as the family watched Uruguay and South Korea square off.

They pulled out two survivors and retrieved 11 bodies from the rubble.
