Singapore Maha Karuna Buddhist Society hold Poson dansela

Ven. Kegalle Gunaratane Thera was born in Kegalle. After university education the Thera left for Singapore to propagate Buddhism in Singapore and started the Singapore Maha Karuna Buddhist Association 12 years before.

During this Poson season Ven. Gunaratane Thera came to Sri Lanka with a group of Buddhist pilgrims, members of the Singapore Maha Karuna Buddha Society.

During the Poson festival they conducted a 'Dansela' for the devotees visiting the sacred sites. Ven. Gunaratana Thera is the patron of the society.

Besides they also distributed free medicine, school textbooks and other school materials and free spectacles to the needy.
