All Lankans celebrated Poson freely
The splendour of Poson festival is celebrated today by all Sri
Lankans together. The terrorists had prevented the freedom of worship
for over a period of three decades.
After defeating terrorism now the opportunity has dawned for all
communities to pursue their religious observances President Mahinda
Rajapaksa said. The President expressed these views at the event of
illumination of the program held in Situlpawwa Rajamaha Viharaya
premises during Poson.
The President said, I am extremely happy to see all Sri Lankans
celebrate Poson together.
The President pointed out that it is the responsibility of the elders
to mould the future generation so that there would be a virtuous
society. The younger generation needs a good virtuous society without
hatred. Elders should determine during this festivities to guide their
children towards better virtues. Likewise in Anuradhapura Poson festival
has to be celebrated in the South also on a grand scale in the future.
