Qatar briefs migrant workers on rights

Migrant workers to Qatar need to have a basic knowledge on the country’s labour laws and the procedures to receive support when the need arises.

For this a program to educate them prior to departure is essential.

The Qatar Labour Department and the National Human Rights Committee is prepared to extend support to any migrant worker seeking help, Qatar National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) Legal Affairs Assistant Director Ahmad Al Mohammadi told Daily News Business.

A delegation from Qatar visited Sri Lanka to hold a meeting focused on Sri Lankan migrants working in Qatar. Many migrant workers do not have knowledge on their rights and obligations.
