Seven-a-side soccer tourney

The seven a side inter school soccer tournament for the Sam Chandrasinghe Challenge Trophy will be worked off on Saturday and Sunday at the Race Course grounds in Reid Avenue.

This tournament is organised by the Old Anandians Sports Club Soccer Wing in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Football Association and the Sri Lanka Schools Football Association. A total of 48 teams will be competing in this tournament which will be conducted in three categories Cup, Plate and Bowl.

The tournament was inaugurated in 2003 with Veluwana College emerging as the champions.

Thereafter Lumbini (2004), St. Benedict's (2005), S. Thomas' Matara (2006), St. Benedict's (2007), Zahira (2008) and Lumbini (2009) emerged champions of this tournament.
