Josephians rout Mahanama - 45/0
St Joseph's College pulled off a convincing 45 points to nil victory
over Mahanama College in their Singer inter school Under 20 division two
league rugby tournament match worked off at Longden Place yesterday.
The match of course was called off eight minutes before the final
whistle due to a brawl between the two teams after two Mahanama players
were red carded as a result of rough play.
The Josephians who have already clinched the division two league
title, with an unbeaten record, collected their points from five goals
and two tries after having led 15 nil at half time.
Number eight Malintha Soysa planted four tries while Mayura Sanjeewa
scored two tries. The latter also successfully converted five tries.
