Agri Ministry should promote healthy food habits

The Agriculture Ministry has a responsibility not only to produce local foods but also promote them and encourage people to add them to their consumption, Agriculture Ministry Secretary K.E. Karunatilake said.

He was speaking at the opening of the Food Promotion Centre of the Sri Lanka National Freedom from Hunger Campaign Board, First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa opened on June 17 in Dehiwela.

Karunatilaka said there is a trend among people living in urban areas to add local food for consumption.
