Pre-requisite to development:

Education uplift to meet challenges

The need for improving education to cater to the future development aspects of the country has been recognised Wayamba Chief Minister Athula Wijesinghe said participating at a prize-giving ceremony of the Udakekulawala Maha Vidyalaya at Alawwa.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa emphasised the need to upgrade the education system to meet international challenges. The President’s first priority is to develop the Education Sector of the country, he said.

The government will develop the country by carrying out massive development projects including infrastructure development, the Chief Minister said.

Kurunegala District Parliamentarian and SLFP organiser for Dambadeniya Shantha Bandara and Giriulla Zonal Education Director Athula Alagiyawanna also spoke.
