Lahiru Perera follows up successful single to Rambari:

Rathu Ratakaju on cruise for success

Young musician Lahiru Perera launched his newest single in DVD titled Rathu Ratakaju in spectacular fashion aboard the cruiser Jetliner on Thursday amidst a large and enthusiastic group of guests and media.

The song is a follow-up to his very successful recent single ‘Rambari’ a tune which became a success in both financially as well as in popularity. Rambari became an instant hit even with foreigners mainly for its catchy and robust ‘Kavadi’ styled beat and as is customary these days, was accompanied by a well choreographed video to go along with it.

In addition Lahiru hopes the movements of ‘Ratakaju steps’ will catch on with the song while displaying a few moves too to show it was simple.

The lyrics of Rathu Ratakaju are by Manuranga Wijesekera and are somewhat similar to Rambari and theme-wise don’t tell a story in sequence. Seemingly it is a collection of tongue-twisting words and simple catchy phrases. The music is built on a firm ¾ bass drum (baila) beat and is likely to become another catchy hit. Music of Rathu Ratakaju is by Music Oven (Lahiru and Daddy) the video production of the single is by Aryans Films.

The song commences with a rap styled short music piece and gets on to the business end with the firm drum beat setting in. The single has a direct bearing on the Rambari song. ‘I needed to give my fans who took to the Rambari song an equally catchy hit comprising a similar beat.

Though I wrote the first music lines I got stuck halfway and with support only could I get the music completed’, said the smartly attired Lahiru at the launch who also presented the first copy of the DVD single to his father, watched by his family and close friends. According to the DVD a search is on to discover a ‘baila DNA’ and Lahiru makes good his search.

The DVD contains Lahiru garbed in different attire together with several dance sequences coordinated by about three different dance groups. The whole effort is well orchestrated to provide a result of god standard.

The launch was also combined with the guests being taken on a short cruise on Jetliner along the coastline.
