The German luxury sports car company’s subsidiary, Porsche Design, is
marketing a mobile phone. As if a Porsche isn’t enough of a status
symbol, now Porsche owners are in for yet another exclusive ‘stand
apart’ deal!
A global launch of the company’s latest mobile phone series, Porsche
Design P’9522 BLACK, took place in the affluent city state of Singapore,
recently, where, only a1,600 odd drivers of Porsche cars can buy it from
the car dealership. The phone is made by Sagem Wireless and combines
matt black anodized aluminum and black mineral glass. The best part of
the new gadget is its fingerprint sensor exclusive to authenticate
users.
Its retailing pricing of 2,280 Singapore dollars ($1,636), positions
Blackberry and iPhone three times lower in Singapore. Despite the
sky-rocketing retail rate, its agent expects demand to be strong in the
country and from the Asia Pacific region which witnessed 80 percent
increase in the number of billionaires in 2009 according to Forbes
magazine. |
