Poetry

Small yet harmful

One inch long
And covered in hair,
With many false feet.
The caterpillar,
Lies asleep
Curled into a tight ball,
Such a tiny creature.
Yet look at the tree
He lives on.
All leaves have holes
In them,
And some leaves have
Ceased to exist
A long time ago.
A small yet harmful creature,
The caterpillar.
Will cease to be harmful
After he grows wings,
And turn into a butterfly!

Last post

The Last Post sounds at 6 O'clock sharp
In memory of the fallen heroes of war:
Life stands still to remember them
Who gave their lives so that we may live.
Do we remember them when we wine and dine
Or fright, or whine?
Do we remember the families of them
Who've laid down their lives,
whose limbs were maimed
In the battle fields with no thoughts
for the morrow
Nor caring for the searing pain and sorrow?
Would we remember them
Tomorrow and the day after?
Lest we forget,
Sound the Last Post.

Elders' home anthem

The silent tears
Roll down her cheeks
Revealing loudly
The fateful transition
From her own nest
To a common home
Where silent tears
of many a parenta
in chorus sing
The anthem of loneliness!

I have walked and prayed for this young child an hour

And heard the sea-wind scream upon the tower,
And under the arches of the bridge, and scream
In the elms above the flooded stream;
Imagining in excited reverie
That the future years had come,
Dancing to a frenzied drum,
Out of the murderous innocence of the sea.

Thou swell in the Internet

A two-storied house, a car
(Purchased out of the tax-free permit)
Some pedigreed dog, a flower-filled garden
A gate, perhaps upon the wife's demand.

And blindness, within and outside the gate
Ignorance rains in walks down the street
'No! No politics at all, we are content
With what we have. And people are not

Afraid of bombs at least. Quite safe
In travels and shopping down the arcades.
Even not so, terror-gone,
food cities on with cheap goods
Why so frustrated, who can't manage with these on?'

Arguments: "And why not make full use of
Our office equipment, they are so abound
Government provides them (for us). And we serve the
Community. So these are our due!"

The curse of education, poor administration
Made unaware, smug and perfect self-conscious
No novelty, conformity in our rich middle class
Now dream not a revolution with our J.V.P. Stars!
