Minister instructs to accelerate construction

Health Care Minister Maithripala Sirisena on a recent visit to
Anuradhapura instructed the relevant authorities to accelerate the
construction work of all building structures within the Anuradhapura
teaching hospital premises.
The Minister directed the Provincial Health Services Director to
submit a report outlining the immediate requirements of drugs and the
number of vacancies in the hospital and other medical institutions in
the province.
The Minister accompanied by Minister Tissa Karalliyadda Chief
Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake NCP Governor Karunaratne Divulgane
and Provincial Health Minister Peshala Bandara Jayaratne inspected the
construction worksites of the Medical Faculty Professors unit of the
Rajarata University which costs the Government Rs. 120 million the new
hospital complex worth Rs 2,300 millions was a grant by the Japanese
government.
He also inaugurated the city emergency ambulance service unit.
The Minister indicated that the Polonnaruwa Base hospital being
administered by the North Central Provincial Council would be taken over
by the Central Government to affect large scale improvements there. |
