Kindalapitiya refused fail

Colombo Additional Magistrate Kumari Abeyratne yesterday refused bail for Colombo District UNP Candidate Susil Kindalapitiya and two others remanded in connection with abductions a young woman and possession of firearm.

Three suspects Susil Kumara Kindalapitiya, Ruwan Kumara and Nishantha Amarasinghe were further remanded till June 17.

The Magistrate observed that the Government Analyst's report in connection with the firearm found in the vehicle in which the suspects were travelling after kidnapping the young woman, had been received by the court. Mirihana Police told court that they are awaiting the suspects' fingerprints report.

Earlier, Inspector Ranjan Samarasinghe of Mirihana Police producing a further report said investigations are not completed. The Inspector said the three suspects were arrested while abducting a young woman.

Attorneys Ajith Pathirana, Sanjay Gamage, Nishada Gamage, Subodhini David and Madura Welgama appeared for the suspects.
