Vidullanka net profits increase

Vidullanka PLC group recorded a Rs 121.8 million net profit for the year ended March 31, 2010, which is a 78 percent increase from the last financial year.

Parent company Vidullanka PLC net profit increased by 54 percent and the main subsidiary of Vidullanka PLC, Vidul Construction Ltd improves its performance by 83 percent against the last financial year.

During 2009/10 Vidul Construction Limited completed the construction of Ganthuna Udagama mini hydro power plant which is a Joint investment by Vidullanka PLC and Hirdaramani Private Limited under the company Gurugoda Hydro Private Limited.

This is Vidullanka's fourth mini hydro power plant and it was connected to the national grid in March 2010.

Vidullanka PLC acquires a stake in Nilwala Vidulibala Company, a company developing a 2 mw mini hydro power plant in Morawaka.
