Junior athletic trials from tomorrow

The 53rd Junior athletics championship conducted by the Athletics Association of Sri Lanka starts tomorrow at the Mahinda Rajapakse International Stadium in Diyagama.

The meet concludes on Sunday and will start at 8.00 a.m. each day.

Over 2500 athletes from all over the country are expected to take part in this meet which also acts as a selection trial for the Asian Junior Athletics Championships which will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam on July 03 and 04.

In addition there will be 11 events to select athletes for the Commonwealth games in Pune and Asian Games in Guangzhou which were scheduled to be held last month but had to be canceled due to bad weather.
