Motorists using mobiles beware

Police have deployed a special mobile motorcycle unit in Kandy to nab errant motorists using mobile phones while at the wheel, Kandy SSP Ranjith Kasthuriratne said.

He said the unit will also keep a special eye on bus drivers speaking through mobiles phones while driving their vehicles.

Motorists found at fault breaking this road rule would be taken to court instead of charging spot fines.
