President keen on drawing youth to Navigation sector

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has drawn attention towards formulating a systematic program to train youth for employment in the Navigation sector.

The objective of this program is to direct Sri Lankan youth towards professions in the high income bracket and provide them with professional recognition in the international field, the President's media division said in a press release issued yesterday.

The program will be an integrated effort of the Youth Affairs Ministry, Fisheries Ministry, SLPA, Sri Lanka Shipping Corporation and the private sector firms involved in shipping.
