Higher education- paradigm shift

(Editorial- May 23, 2010)

Practically the private sector is based on profit. When the private sector starts private universities all degrees in Government universities will become like present day management degrees (need additional qualifications). Those who have completed a management degree can’t get a better job without private certificates, but those who have completed only those courses can get better jobs.

(Page 1- May 21, 2010)

This is the height of audacity

- G.Fernando

******

As far as I know, a natural product cannot be patented. If the active compound in this plant can be isolated and identified, still it cannot be patented as a single entity, but its use for medicine (eg. STD etc) can be patented.

A valued article on Public Sector

(Morning Inspection- May 22, 2010)

Of course there are many lion hearted Sri Lankans who would come forward courage sly whether it will be rain, sun, or fire. It is in thousands they laid their lives to protect their family or countrymen. Well done and appreciate the work of the policeman in the picture, I’m sure it is him and people like him who would come forward to

save the other regardless of his own life.

Don’t forget there are people who would even take another life to get power and wealth
