Officials told to speed up functions

Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena has ordered Health Ministry officials to speed up Ministry functions and solve people’s problems soon.

Around 5,000 people visit the Health Ministry every Wednesday which is the Public Day, a Ministry spokesman said.

According to the spokesman Minister Sirisena had instructed Ministry officials to solve all the problems presented by the people within one day without letting those people to visit the Ministry for the second time to get their work done or to obtain solutions for their problems.

Minister Sirisena said all officials should promptly assist people because they visit the Ministry to obtain solutions for their official problems.

Minister Sirisena also ordered not to display his photographs in institutions functioning under the purview of the Health Ministry.

He said it is adequate to display the photographs of the President and the Prime Minister in all State institutions functioning under the purview of his Ministry.
