Herculean task achievable - CEB Chairman
Shirley Wijesinghe
It is a herculean task to make the Ceylon Electricity Board an
institution that is no burden to the nation. But it can be achieved
easily adhering to a periodical work frame with your support, said newly
appointed Ceylon Electricity Board Chairman Vidya Dilruk Amarapala after
assuming duties at CEB Head Office yesterday.
Amarapala said that to turn around the CEB from an estimated loss for
this year to zero level could be only achieved by the dedication of
employees under the correct political direction with necessary fine
tunings.
CEB has become paradise of professionals. It should be converted to a
profitable organization without being a burden to the future generation.
Nobody likes to see their families split. Likewise no employee of the
board would like to see the board collapsing, he said.
He said that he will give priority to streamline power generating
systems to maximum capacity and regularize it adding renewable energy
sources to the national power grid in a special manner.
“Let us work hard and try to give some funds to the treasury making
CEB a financially sound statutory board shortly.
