Minister tells journalists:

Create victorious mentality among public

Mass Media and Communication Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said the media has to guide the public to create a victorious mentality among them.

The Minister made these remarks when he visited the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation yesterday on an observation tour.

Minister Rambukwella was welcomed by the Corporation staff led by Chairman Sarath Kongahage.

Speaking further, the Minister said it is not necessary to make journalists aware anew of their responsibilities towards President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s vision to make Sri Lanka the miracle of Asia a reality.

The Minister recalled that some elements criticised his service as the National Defence spokesman, while over 2,000 cartoons were published in newspapers about him during the past.

The Minister said he is satisfied with the task he performed.

Minister Rambukwella stressed that he has no grudge against anybody in the ministries he was incharge and always welcome criticisms and dissenting ideas.

Rupavahini Corporation Chairman Sarath Kongahage, Acting Director General Devapriya Abeysinghe and Chief Executive Officer Gamini Rasaputhra also participated.
