Kandy schools' CIM Marketing Clubs:

Activities recognized

A felicitation ceremony to recognize the activities of Kandy schools' CIM Marketing Clubs and the service of charter office bearers was held recently at the Hillwood College, Auditorium.

The charter office bearers of the CIM Marketing Clubs of Hillwood College, Trinity College, Madina Central College and Maliyadeva College Kurunegala were recognized for their efforts towards promoting 'marketing' in their schools.

Representing CIM Sri Lanka Region, Education, Head Dayan D L Fernando, Management Committee Members Brian Selvanayagam and Pramodya Karunathilake, Education Services Manager Ranmal Ekanayake, Student Affairs Executive Priya Kodituwakku, Education Services Executive Sandamali Silva, Harsha Subhashana and Indi Fernando attended the event.

CIM Sri Lanka Region chartered the CIM Marketing clubs in schools in 2009 as an initiative towards inculcating marketing principles amongst school children and promoting marketing as a career.

Through the CIM Marketing Clubs, The Institute intends to fill a long standing vacuum in the A/L school syllabi for 'marketing' education and give a feel of 'what is marketing' to the school children.

During the year 2009/2010 various educational and networking events were organized to further this objective.
