“In renewable energy production, Sri Lanka is behind even Bangladesh.
People’s awareness in renewable energy production will be important for
Sri Lanka.” The Government should also further encourage public and
private partnerships, he said.
Renewable energy is what Sri Lanka can get free and with a little
effort since the speed of the wind and sunlight in Sri Lanka is
favourable for the production of renewable energy.
The second exhibition on energy to be held in Sri Lanka it is hoped
will attract the attention of many investors to the country.
“Many international forerunners in the industry will participate in
the exhibition.
“They will not only come here to participate but look for investment
opportunities. Millions of dollars can be earned by Sri Lanka using
these resources meticulously,” Sarwar said.
He said the Government should encourage production of renewable
energy by popularizing it among the ordinary people. “Since the economy
of Sri Lanka is booming, opportunities to accelerate the production of
renewable energy will be immense,” he said.
Energy is an important factor in the development of a country and Sri
Lanka should eye opportunities in renewable energy. |
