Lorry crashes into house

Seven people have been admitted to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital following an accident where a lorry crashed into a house at Ataweeragollewa in Anuradhapura on Friday at around 7.30 p.m.

The driver is said to have lost control of the lorry when he was trying to overtake another lorry heading towards Medawachchiya on the Medawachchiya-Kebithigollewa road. Then the lorry had crashed into a house which was situated about 20 metres from the road.

Police said that the driver of the lorry was under the influence of liquor.

Kebithigollewa police are investigating.
